Kate Driver is an award-winning writer, director and photographer from Newcastle, working between London and Newcastle.

As a writer and director, Kate is drawn to intimate, character-led stories that explore trauma, identity and the things people carry with them. Her work often looks at difficult experiences through a human and emotionally grounded lens, with a particular interest in stories that give space to voices and perspectives that are often overlooked.

Kate has worked with Film Hub North and Rianne Pictures, and her award-winning short film Saint Agnes is currently making its way through the international festival circuit.

Kate is currently developing a feature script and working on two upcoming short films.

Alongside filmmaking, Kate has been photographing live music since she was a teenager. She started out shooting gigs for online publications, photographing and interviewing bands when they played her local venues. After taking a step back from photography to focus on filmmaking, she has recently returned to live photography, shooting both digital and 35mm film.

She currently shoots freelance and for Lou Mag and is looking to work more closely with musicians on live shows, artist shoots, behind-the-scenes photography and music videos.
